  • Dr. Lindsay was awarded the Health Professional Scholarship by the US Navy to attend the University of Virginia School Medicine. Upon graduation from UVA she did her general surgery internship at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. This was a return home for Dr. Lindsay as she was born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital as her dad was a Navy fighter pilot and her parents lived in Virginia Beach. After this year back at home, Dr. Lindsay was stationed in Okinawa, Japan with the US Marines as a general medical officer ( GMO) attached to the 3FSSG. Despite being far away from family Dr. Lindsay embraced the year volunteering with the Marine Corps Relief Society and traveling around Asia with family when they visited. Living in Japan was not foreign for Dr. Lindsay as she has spent several years living in mainland Japan during her childhood when her father was stationed there.

After a year overseas, Dr. Lindsay returned to the US to start otolaryngology residency in the DC area at the National Capitol Consortium residency program. This military residency program was a joint Army and Navy program working out of both the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She additionally spent time at National Children’s Hospital, University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Howard University Hospital, and the University of California- Davis hospital during her residency training providing a very well-rounded training experience and unique access to multiple different academic otolaryngology departments and healthcare systems.

After residency, Dr. Lindsay became a faculty member in the otolaryngology department at the National Naval Medical Center. She was appointed the site director for the residency program and started a busy clinical and research practice. Knowing that she wanted to be a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon she left Bethesda for one year to complete her Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear in Boston. After fellowship completion she returned to Bethesda at the associate program director and the division officer (assistant chair). This continued to be a very busy time for military medicine because of the world events at the time and Dr. Lindsay could not be more grateful to have had the opportunity to care for wounded warriors, active duty and retired military members and their families. She proudly served for two months on the USS Comfort after the earthquake in Haiti operating on victims of the earthquake alongside a multidisciplinary team of surgeons.

In 2012 Dr. Lindsay completed her Naval obligation and having been offered a job to join the faculty at Massachusetts Eye and Ear/ Harvard Medical School during her fellowship in 2008 she and her family decided to make the move to Boston.
